The “news stories” about US computing supremacy and AI supremacy, never offer any data – only barely-believable words. With the advent of small modular nuclear reactors (SMNR) and quantum computing, plus new breakthroughs in augmented intelligence, AI, this could change rapidly. But here we are.

I had to triple-check this. It’s common knowledge that DeepSeek and Chinese AI is catching up with the US. But 5 years of supercomputer data show that the opposite is actually happening. In fact, the US is smashing it out the park.
The US went from 40% of global AI computing power to almost 70% globally in just five years. Meanwhile China has actually dropped from 35% to 14%.
The US now has 5x more AI computing power than China. Not 50% more. Not double. FIVE TIMES.
