Is this obvious? Jesus (the person), and religion, are NOTHING alike. The “God-shaped vacuum” in each heart craves Life and authenticity, but we are often only offered religion, instead.
Ironically, Jesus didn’t bring religion. He brought something entirely different: SystemOrEcosystem.com
The status quo says religion will always bring us more of this poster, in various forms, subtle or not-so-subtle. This poster was seen today, in a museum display.
What-what?!
A 1493 pope religious proclamation, the Doctrine of Discovery, gave France – and all Christendom – authority to claim “discovered” uninhabited lands.
Native Americans were deemed uncivilized, thus the land was deemed “uninhabited.”
Consider religion that thinks and acts like this museum plaque—and what the alternative might be that would describe Jesus’ life, and the life of those he personally taught and walked with. While you’re at it, consider the alternative to atheism/ agnosticism/ boredom. Those three things almost seem “logical” if this poster is how “religion” is supposed to be.
Jesus wasn’t religious. He IS worth pursuing, in this messy damaged world.
