BUT THEN! It turned out the Bruce Lee video is a fake and I still hold the title for the coolest table tennis victory ever.
The video was created in 2008 as part of a J. Walter Thompson advertising campaign for the Nokia N96 Limited Edition Bruce Lee cell phone. That still sounds like a cool idea for a cell phone.
The video was intentionally shot to look like old footage from the late 1960s with a Bruce Lee lookalike actor and ping pong players mimicking the motions of a real game — without actually using a ball. The ball and sound effects were added digitally in post-production.
