This was an inescapable outcome. The Law of Conservation of Mass: In a closed system, mass is neither created nor destroyed over time. Antoine Lavoisier in 1789 presented this Law, foundational in chemistry and mechanics.
In addition, total energy in an isolated system remains constant over time, the First Law of Thermodynamics.
Einstein’s mass-energy equivalence (E = mc²) states that mass and energy are two forms of the same thing: mass can be converted to energy and vice versa, combining conservation laws for mass and energy at relativistic scales.
