Typical items commonly stolen from parked vehicles include GPS devices, electronic devices, car registration and documentation, third-row seats, rims and tires, license plates, truck tailgates, catalytic converters, car batteries, garage door openers, stereo equipment, cash, sunglasses, accessories, and keys. Thieves in DC and other areas wander the streets in the middle of the night and target these items for resale value or potential for identity theft.
