Humans have really messed up this mammal thing. We weren’t meant to be filled with selfishness and hatred and bigotry. It doesn’t suit us.
Richard DiPillaDEER MAMA WILL DO ANYTHING FOR HER BABY
With nowhere else to turn, a mother’s instincts guided this mama deer to take a dangerous chance.
She used her own body to stop a car on the road, hoping the humans inside would be as kind as she was desperate, and help save her baby.
The couple followed her, only to discover her little one tangled in a wire fence.
With compassion and quick thinking, they pulled out cutters from their trunk and freed the fawn.
This moment reminds us that love knows no boundaries between species.
It also challenges us to ask: how often do we ignore the cries for help—whether from people, animals, or the environment—because it is inconvenient for us?
As Marcus Aurelius wrote,
“Man is born for deeds of kindness.”
This mama deer risked everything for her baby, and thankfully, she crossed paths with people who understood that truth.
