What Are Milestones?
A milestone is a zero-duration checkpoint that marks a meaningful achievement in the project. It’s not work. It’s a signal that important work has been completed or a key event has occurred.
Milestones are used to answer questions like:
➡️ Are we where we said we’d be by this date?
➡️ Did we finish the deliverable that unlocks the next activity?
➡️ Is the project still on track to hit a key business commitment?
Examples of strong milestones
➡️ Project Charter approved
➡️ Requirements baseline signed off
➡️ Prototype validated with users
