I guess we are going to need to see what happens in a year or three after “glue“ is used for bone fractures. It’s not all obvious. Broken bones require several key factors to heal properly, including adequate blood supply, proper nutrients, mechanical stability, and a good biological environment. Blood supply is essential, delivering oxygen and nutrients to the fracture site, supporting the healing process. Nutrients vital for bone healing include calcium, vitamin D, protein, vitamin C, magnesium, zinc, and collagen-building elements like lysine and proline. Mechanical stability—achieved through proper fracture reduction and fixation—is needed to allow the bone to unite correctly. Additionally, a good inflammatory response, absence of infection, and overall health status such as absence of smoking or systemic diseases positively impact healing.

Arnold MaGlue for broken bones?! 😱
This Chinese invention blows EVERYONE’s mind! 🤫
Innovation is fuelled by imagination.
Chinese researchers unveiled something that sounded almost like science fiction…
A “bone glue” that can mend fractures in JUST minutes.
Inspired by oysters clinging firmly to rocks in wild, salty seas.
Scientists wondered whether they could create something that bonds just as strongly inside the human body.
–> Where blood and moisture usually make adhesives fail! 🩸
Out of this idea came Bone-02, a medical glue designed to hold shattered bones together.
Without the screws/plates/metal rods we usually imagine in orthopaedic surgery.
The claims are striking.
Doctors say it can bond bone fragments in as little as 2/3 minutes, even in the middle of a bleeding surgical field. 😳
Tests suggest the glue can withstand forces of over 400 pounds.
Unlike metal implants, it doesn’t need to be removed later.
Instead, it slowly degrades as the patient’s bone heals, leaving behind only the body’s own natural structure.
This isn’t the first “glue” that is so iconic…
China has worked with glues made from bones and hides for millennia.
💡 Used in art, bookbinding, and traditional medicine.
Bone-02 reimagines it for what the future holds!
The glue has reportedly been used in more than a hundred patients in China.
BUT, this still lacks long-term studies, global regulatory approval, or independent validation from outside labs.
Don’t get too excited just yet! 😂
What do you think of this *bone glue*?
