Who you are when no one is rooting for you—is the indicator of whether you’ll even be worth knowing when you “knock it out of the park” in life or career.

If you’re the single clap in the auditorium… 👇
I’m on my lonely path, but …
I’ve designed my support systems very intentionally
So if you’re on an exceptional path
Here are 3 powerful personal support systems
To make the long journey more sustainable and less lonely:
1. Health 💪
“A healthy person wants a million things
An unhealthy person wants one thing”
Lie and die (irony intended) by S.H.E.D;
↳ Sleep – 7-8 hrs / night
↳ Hydration – 2L of water / day
↳ Exercise – every day, no exceptions
↳ Diet – eat clean, balanced meals, no UPFs
I go to bed at 9pm and wake up at 5am every day
I drink 2L of water (and coffee) every day
I exercise every day from 6-7am
I eat well every day
(I also meditate for 10 mins every day
but S.H.M.E.D. didn’t have the same ring to it)
Obviously this is easier for me because I don’t have kids,
But it all comes down to being disciplined with the things within my control.
As a result…
I have lots of energy
I can work hard for a long time
You can’t pour from an empty cup.
2. Relationship ❤️🔥
“Love, belonging, connection, and joy are irreducible needs for all of us.
We can’t give people what we don’t have.
We have to live love to give love” – Brene Brown
My partner has the biggest impact on my life than anyone else.
So, Laura and I;
↳ Have Relationship OKRs (hat tip to Dan M-S)
↳ Do structured monthly couples check-ins
↳ Do monthly finance meetings
↳ Do monthly therapy
↳ Have bi-weekly date nights
↳ Ask each other what 3 things we’re grateful for every day
We have a system
Which gives us the headspace
To savour every moment together
As a result…
We barely ever argue or bicker
We bring each other a lot of joy, laughter and love
3. Family, Friends, Peers & Mentors 🫶
“Good friends make us better people.
They cheer us on when we hit rock bottom
And keep us humble when we reach the top.”
I have a personal CRM of my closest family, friends, peers and mentors
Each person has a tag with;
↳ Regularity of contact
↳ Last time contacted
↳ Ways I can support them
I come back to it every week and make sure I’m aligned with how often
I’m reaching out and supporting those who matter most to me
It might sound a bit mental but it
Keeps me guilt free, in that I’m showing up
In a way that feels most aligned to who I want to be
💬 Comment which system you would find the most value out from and I can share my structures
