Start packing, since Earth is so messed up! Gliese 12 b is Earthlings’ next best hope for survival!
“The nearest, transiting temperate, Earth-sized planet found to date” — has all four seasons every 12 days! Outstanding!
Earth’s current average temperature is 59°F according to NASA, having increased 2°F since the late 1800s. This new “best hope for earth’s repopulation,” is only 109°F average temperature, 50°F more than earth. So, that should work, right? As the song says, “don’t forget the sunscreen.“ Or, I’m sure there’s a CVS nearby on Gliese 12 b.
Time to start packing!
Now, all we have to do is get there. It’s only a short commute of 235 trillion miles. Are we having an “attitude”? Don’t make me pull this rocket over and come back there. No, “we aren’t there yet!”
Or maybe we should enjoy the place we’ve been given without getting so crazy. Besides, some lunatic would come along to the new planet and mess up the “politics and religion” there also. That’s just the problem with people.
If we’d have to learn how to get along with each other on Gliese 12 b, maybe we can do that here, and save the trip.
