Jeffrey Sachs has made significant contributions to promoting sustainable development, poverty reduction, and addressing global challenges through his work as an economist, advisor to world leaders, and advocate for progressive policies. Championing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
– Sachs played a pivotal role in the formulation and adoption of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals in 2015, which aim to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all. He helped build consensus among nations on this ambitious global agenda.
– He established the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) in 2012 to mobilize scientific and technical expertise in support of the SDGs. The SDSN now has over 1,600 member institutions across 137 countries.
Advising on Poverty Reduction Strategies
