Alzheimers Disease

See the spectacular and breathtaking design: Groundbreaking new view of human brain molecules. What an amazing WORK OF ART!

It’s so easy to marvel at the depth of the riches of what surrounds us, and the majesty of what is within us, without ever taking the next step: “What are we waiting for, what are we going to do about it?“

In a groundbreaking study, scientists Madeleine Gilbert, Nayab Fatima, Joshua Jenkins, René Frank, et al. have determined the structure of molecules within a human brain for the very first time.

Using cryo-electron tomography, guided by fluorescence microscopy, to explore deep inside an AlzheimersDisease donor brain, they created 3D maps of proteins like β-amyloid and tau.

These 3-dimensional maps allowed them to observe proteins within the brain and provided new insights into how β-amyloid and tau disrupt cellular communication, leading to Alzheimers symptoms.

The findings may pave the way for novel treatments for neurological diseases.
