60% of Nobel Prize Winners in Physics believe in God—NOT superstitious dummies. “Three Scientific Discoveries That Reveal the Mind Behind the Universe” by Stephen C. Meyer argues that RECENT scientific discoveries actually support the idea dramatically and statistically of a personal God who transcends space and time. The “scientific method” should not be abandoned when inconvenient.
1. Biological Information: The complex information in DNA and RNA cannot be explained by physical or material means. The origin of this information points to an intelligent source, as materialist scientists have absolutely failed to recreate the initial steps toward life.
2. Cosmic Fine-Tuning: The laws of physics are finely tuned to support life, particularly human life. Slight variations in these laws would render life impossible, indicating intentional design.
3. The Universe’s Beginning: Meyer highlights the Big Bang theory as strong evidence of a universe with a specific beginning of energy and matter, challenging the materialist view of an eternal universe. Many scientists initially resisted this idea due to its theistic implications and accountability, but Big Bang evidence has grown stronger over time.
Meyer dismisses pantheism and deism. He supports theism: an active influencing of creation, as seen in events like the Cambrian Explosion.
Meyer challenges the views of notable cosmologists like Stephen Hawking and Lawrence Krauss, who dislike a theistic interpretation of the universe’s origin. He calls out their reliance on speculative concepts like “imaginary time,” arguing their reasoning is weak, and discoveries since their arguments are strong.
Meyer asserts that the evidence from biology, physics, and cosmology points to a personal God as the most STATISTICALLY plausible explanation for the universe’s existence and properties.
We’ve all been told for a few generations that the unparalleled intellect of the atheist rules. Clearly not so. And, don’t refuse a living involved God simply because institutional religion has messed it up and misrepresented. They are not the same.
